Welcome New PGY2 Residents

We would like to welcome our new residents; Drs. Sally McClung, Robert Quiring, Benjamin Rushing, Emily Sauce, and Katie Trettin. We have been excited to work with these excellent candidates with superb credentials thus far and believe they will contribute much to the residency program and the future of dermatology practice.

Sally McClung, MD

Sally was born in Selma, Alabama, and raised in Thomasville, Alabama. She obtained her degree in Microbiology from Mississippi State University, graduating summa cum laude and with honors distinction. She then received her doctorate of medicine from the University of Mississippi Medical Center, where she also completed her preliminary year. In her free time, she enjoys cheering on the MSU Bulldogs and spending time with her husband and two daughters.

Quiring

Robert Quiring, MD

Rob is a proud Lafayette, Louisiana native. His academic journey led him to Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, where he earned a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering. Eager to pursue his passion for medicine, he continued his education at LSU New Orleans Medical School and completed his intern year at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. Outside of medicine, Rob and his fiancé, who are set to be married on December 30th, love exploring different breweries and he enjoys running, traveling, and mastering the art of cooking on his new Blackstone griddle. 

Rushing

Benjamin Rushing, MD

Ben was born on Eglin Air Force Base, Florida but raised in Monticello, MS. He attended Mississippi State University where he graduated Summa cum Laude and obtained a Bachelor of Science in Biological Engineering. He attended medical school at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, where he also completed his internship in Internal Medicine. In his free time, Ben enjoys spending time with his wife, son, and two dogs. He also loves reading and spending time outdoors.

Sauce

Emily Sauce, MD

Emily was born and raised in Thibodaux, Louisiana as the youngest of six children. She earned her bachelor's degree in biology from Nicholls State University graduating summa cum laude with honors. During her time at Nicholls, she also ran track and cross country.  She went on to attain her doctorate in medicine from LSU New Orleans School of Medicine and then completed her preliminary year in internal medicine at LSU Baton Rouge prior to starting UMMC dermatology residency. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her friends and family, cooking great food, running, and doing CrossFit, and spending time outdoors.

Tretting

Katie Trettin, MD

Katie was born and raised in Monroe, LA and attended Tulane University in New Orleans where she studied cell and molecular biology and public health. She attended LSU Shreveport Medical School and completed her internship year at UMMC. Outside of work, she enjoys playing tennis with her husband, playing with her cat Lena, traveling, and trying new restaurants.
